ProJo says 'Power Workout' One More Reason to Love Kristi Yamaguchi

Who doesn’t like Olympic gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi, the ice skater who also is a “Dancing with the Stars” champion? According to a 2010 study, she is one of the top 10 most beloved athletes, and highest among female athletes.
She’s got a winning smile, lots of enthusiasm and a competitive spirit that is powerful yet understated. So it’s no wonder that she has taken to creating the workout DVD “Kristi Yamaguchi: Power Workout,” a circuit approach to staying fit.
Split into three 10-minute segments, plus added abs and chest workouts, the program that features Yamaguchi and celebrity trainer Erin O’Brien tones the entire body and burns calories by weaving cardio, weights and stationary exercises.
The sample video above shows the first cardio "blast" — a pylometrics-based effort that probably is not well suited for beginners. Otherwise, the DVD has very approachable routines, and the splitting of the segments makes this workout very doable.
I really liked the weight segments, and Yamaguchi’s “complaining” about some of her exercises, that in her typical fashion was both cheerful and understated. This DVD is just one more reason to love Yamaguchi.
